CORDELL CHAMBER CHECK LIST FOR VACATIONSWINTER: ¨ Always take extra supplies. Carry properly fitting tire chains , extra blankets, a flash light, gloves, a shovel, flares, crackers and a tin can with a candle, book matches, and water.¨ Don’t undersize your vehicle, you may need extra power to climb an icy road or drive out of a snow drift. ¨ Verify your route and plan an alternate route in case of bad weather. ¨ Allow extra space between you and the car in front of you. Snow and ice make stopping distances much longer. ¨ Never travel without first checking your tire tread, anti-freeze, lights, battery, brakes, defroster, heater and wiper blades. ¨ Tank up. Trips to the mountains can take longer during the winter, especially if weather conditions deteriorate. ¨ Ensure that you know whether your vehicle has front or rear wheel drive-snow chains must be installed on the drive wheels.
