What Will The Chamber Do For Me?

1. Even though we help send customers to all businesses, Chamber Members are given first priority.
Plus, visitors are encouraged to shop at our Member stores.

2. Networking is an important part of being a Chamber Member. We meet at least once a month to
discuss ways to improve our methods of doing business and come up with ideas for new projects.

3. The Chamber further promotes and attracts customers regionally, State wide and Nationally.

4. Events such as the Pumpkin Festivall and Town-Wide Garage Sale are advertised and promoted by
the Chamber. There are also other events during the year and more are in the works. These events
bring visitors and their dollars to our community.

5. Chamber Bucks, which are similar to gift certificates, help keep money in Cordell. These Checks can
only be spent in Chamber Member stores.

6. Chamber Members are listed in various printings, on the Chamber's website and in various
advertising.

7. There is also the weekly radio program hosted by the Chamber and a news article submitted to the
newspaper. The Chamber's website is another way we advertise, post news and announce events.
Everything is geared to promote your business and bring in customers.

8. Members can form committees to research projects and investigate the feasibility of putting that
project in place. Then the results are submitted to the Board to be acted upon and possibly be
implemented. Don’t forget, YOU are the Chamber and your voice counts.

Many people don’t realize that much of the money spent in one store will in turn be spent in another
store locally. For example, when I make more money then I will buy more supplies at the hardware store
to do some projects. If enough people do the same then that store may increase their employee’s hours
or hire more workers then they will be able to afford that second new or used car which means more
money spent at the gas stations. The local car dealer’s salesperson that sold that car will then have
more spending money for leisure such as go to a movie, eat out more or buy a new flat panel TV. In turn
that appliance store, movie theater and restaurant will spend money at the hardware store, just as I did,
and the cycle keeps going. The list goes on and on from one store to the next. Do you see my point?

So, if you are a Chamber Member, then join in and let your voice be heard. If you are not a member,
then come and see what we have to offer. Make that commitment to yourself and the community. When
we work together and help each other, we help ourselves in return. You really can make a difference.
